BRAMBLETON, Va. – Charlee Schulte now sleeps through the night, no longer awakened by allergy-induced sneezing.
The nine-year-old’s breakthrough came when her father, Steve Schulte, a vice president of engineering for the developer of the 8,200-home Brambleton community near Washington, D.C., had a Beam HEPA Air Filtration System installed in the family’s home in September.
“The night after they installed it, she slept through the night for the first time in nine years,” he said.
The built-in Beam HEPA Air Filtration System can be connected to any HVAC system to remove airborne particulates as they travel through the air return. Beam HEPA Air Filtration Systems are 99.97 percent efficient at removing airborne particulate 0.3 microns and larger. A micron is 1/300the diameter of a human hair.
DesignTech, a Beam dealer in nearby Waldorf, Md., installed the HEPA Air Filtration System in the Schulte home in less than two hours. The dealer also measured the airborne particulate before and after the Air Filtration System was turned on. Schulte says the particulate count dropped 85 percent from 2 million to 275,000 per cubic foot after two days of use.
“It was like my kids were smoking a cigarette every day for nine years,” Schulte says.
As an added bonus, the damp musty smell in his basement also disappeared after installing the Beam system.
“This is huge to me. By eliminating moisture, you’re sustaining the rest of the components of the home and improving the health aspect,” he adds.
Charlee’s improvement has been so remarkable, Schulte bought her and her sister, Madison, a Labrador puppy. And Charlee still is not sneezing.
